“Trust is earned in the smallest of moments. It is not earned through heroic deeds or even highly visible actions, but through paying attention, listening, and gestures of genuine care and connection.”

Jessica L. Schneider, PsyD
Founder & Executive Director of Evidence Based Therapy Chicago
Dr. Jessica Schneider is a licensed clinical psychologist and has a strong dedication in helping individuals access effective and compassionate treatments. Early on in her academic career, Dr. Schneider sought out intensive training and clinical experiences in evidence-based treatments as it was clear that these modalities would engender lasting, concrete changes for people in an accepting and empowering way.
She completed her Psy.D. in clinical psychology at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, where her clinical training concentrated on Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). During her APA-accredited internship and two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Casa Pacifica Center for Children and Families that received intensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). For her fellowship project, she continued a DBT implementation project for an adolescent girl’s residential treatment program. She continued as the program consultant past her fellowship tenure.
In addition to utilizing CBT, ACT, and DBT, Dr. Schneider is also trained and specializes in trauma treatments; Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). She utilizes these modalities to help individuals with complex problems in her areas of specialization, including emotion/behavioral dysregulation, self-injury, suicidality, parenting difficulties, adolescents, depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, insomnia, and relational aggression.
Throughout her clinical work, she saw how these therapies help individuals get unstuck from patterns of thoughts and behaviors that have gotten in the way of the life they want. As a result, Dr. Schneider is also passionate about the dissemination of evidence-based treatments through her roles as supervisor, consultant, and trainer. Dr. Schneider worked as the Director of Training at a large evidence-based group practice and developed clinical training programs for psychology graduate students and early-career psychologists prior to starting EBTP. Furthermore, She has participated in large-scale DBT dissemination project for L.A. County, works for the The Treatment Implementation Collaborative, LLC (TIC) conducting trainings and consultation for programs throughout the country, and frequently lectures at universities including UCLA, UCI, and Pepperdine. She has also presented at and is on the program committee for the International Society for the Implementation and Teaching of DBT.
Dr Schneider has focused her research on the efficacy of school-based treatment for relational aggression, helping HIV affected families manage the disclosure process, and identifying the efficacy of treatment modalities in treatment and supervision.
Dr. Schneider treats adults and adolescents in both Illinois and California with individual therapy, skills training, parent consultation and skills training, and family therapy. Collaboratively working with kindness, authenticity, and humor to help people heal and live with purpose and integrity is foundational to Dr. Schneider’s work.
